About us
A mEssage From the Pastor
Hi and Welcome to River’s Edge Church!

It has been my dream and desire for many years to serve at a church that makes worship, God’s Holy Word and relationships their highest priorities…so we started one! We call ourselves River’s Edge Church because of the imagery given in Psalm 1:3,” That kind of person is like a tree that is planted near the river’s edge. It always bears its fruit at the right time. Its leaves don’t dry up. Everything godly people do turns out well.”(NIV Reader’s Edition). We often refer to ourselves as “fruit trees”, longing to grow our roots deep, reaching toward that river of God’s abundant love, grace, and the edification that His Word brings. In these end times, we want desperately for God’s great news of salvation in Christ to reach those who are struggling and longing for a connection to their Creator. So, we keep it simple: we worship and open God’s Word on Sunday morning, we go back to the same passage for discussion and going deeper on Wednesday evening, and we get together for fun and building relationships as often as we can. I hope you will consider joining us. We’re small but super friendly and we will welcome you warmly, I promise.

Statement of faith - WHAT WE BELIEVE
The Word of God -We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired, inerrant Word of God. We believe the Bible reveals God’s perfect plan for the salvation of man. (II Timothy 3:16-17)
The Trinity - We believe there is one God, Creator and Sustainer of all things, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matt. 28:19)
God the Father - We believe God our Father is an infinite spiritual being, existing throughout eternity past and future. He is a very personal God with a personality and emotion. He is intimately involved in each of our lives down to the smallest detail. We believe He loves and cares for each of us with unending, unconditional love. (Isaiah 63:16) (Matt. 6:9) (Romans 1:7)
God the Son/Jesus -We believe Jesus is God’s only Son, also existing eternally, and is the Creator of all things. He shares all of the attributes of God the Father and the Holy Spirit and is the purest expression of God’s perfect love. We believe He was conceived by the Holy Spirit through the Virgin Mary, born fully God and fully man, and He lived a perfect and sinless life. We believe His death on the cross was a substitutionary death on behalf of all mankind as we were lost in our sin. Jesus took upon Himself our punishment for sin, which is death, atoning for us all so that we might inherit eternal life with Him. (John 1:1-3, John 10:30-33, Acts 9:20)
God the Holy Spirit - We believe in the Holy Spirit as the third member of a single God-head, also sharing in all the attributes of God the Father and God the Son, eternal in nature. We believe it is the role of the Holy Spirit to convict the unsaved of their sin and their need of a Savior. At the time of conversion, we believe the Holy Spirit to be the indwelling Spirit of Christ in the heart of the believer and to serve as Counselor, Comforter, and Supplier of strength and wisdom for acts of compassion and service. (Acts 1:8, 2:38)
Mankind -We believe God created mankind, male and female, in His own image and together men and women are the most complete representation of our Creator on earth. Mankind was originally created perfect and without sin. We believe sin entered the world when Adam and Eve chose to disobey God in the Garden of Eden, and all people are now born into this world with a sin nature in need of a Savior.
(Genesis 2&3) (Romans 3:23)
Salvation - We believe salvation comes only by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This salvation was extended to us by the immeasurable mercy and grace of God and purchased by means of the atoning death of Jesus on the cross. We do not believe salvation can be earned by the doing of any good works or self-sacrifice.
(Eph. 2:1-9)
Eternal Life -We believe in the bodily resurrection of all mankind, both saved and unsaved: the saved to eternal life in the glory and presence of God and the unsaved to eternal life separated from God. (1 Thess. 4:16-17).
